On of the greatest acts of charity that you can perform it to donate your car to a charitable organization that accepts donated vehicles. If you donate your car you will be helping an organization that is serving needy people. They will take vehicles in various conditions depending the the organizations to which you donate your car, it may be in good driving condition with minimal repairs or some groups will accept a vehicle that doesn’t run at all. These vehicles will be used for a variety of purposes. Primarily many of the vehicles will be used to train unskilled workers in basic car mechanics and they will work to get the vehicles in top running condition. These running vehicles may be used to donate to single mothers or retrofitted for handicap individuals who do not have transportation. Other times if you donate your car, the vehicles are sold and the proceeds are used to fund a soup kitchen, food shelf, or clothes closets that serves homeless of poverty level families.
Where to Donate Your Car
The Salvation Army and Goodwill are great places to donate your car if you want to help a less fortunate family or individual. There are other groups like technical colleges and even high school shop classes that are frequently looking for people to donate their cars.
Occasionally fire departments will let you donate your car and they will use them to provide training for fire fighters to learn to rescue people from burning cars or to operate the jaws of life and rescue people who are pinned in a vehicle after an automobile accident.
Other organizations like veterans service groups, meals on wheels, and similar groups have frequent needs of donated cars in order to complete their mission.
